What was The Buzz in September?
From the future of real estate and the latest in PropTech, to a city-wide celebration of design and plans to reshape Stratford, September was all about what’s next. Across London and beyond, the month brought plenty of ideas, events and developments showing how our cities continue to evolve.
The future of real estate takes shape
With EXPO REAL just around the corner, September was a chance to look ahead at what’s coming next for the property world. From investment and innovation to the changing needs of occupiers and communities, the conversation is increasingly about how real estate can respond to a changing world.
London’s property scene looks ahead
The London Real Estate Forum brought the capital’s property community together to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping London’s future. With the city constantly changing, it was a chance to look at what’s next for its neighbourhoods, buildings and the people who use them.
Property and technology come together
PropTech Connect put technology firmly on the property agenda, bringing together people from across the industry to explore how new ideas and digital innovation are changing the way we create, manage and experience buildings and places.
Design takes over the capital
September also saw London become one giant design showcase as London Design Festival returned. From installations and exhibitions to ideas popping up across the city, the festival once again showed how design can change the way we see and experience familiar places.
Stratford’s Stadium Island gets a new lease of life
Over in Stratford, plans are taking shape to turn Stadium Island into a new leisure-led destination. With Populous working on the proposals, the project could give this well-known part of east London a fresh purpose and create new reasons for people to spend time there.
The bottom line
September’s stories all pointed towards the same thing: the future of our cities is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about new ideas, better experiences and finding fresh ways to bring people into the places around them. From property and technology to design and regeneration, plenty is happening across the industry, and plenty more to come.
And that, in a nutshell, was The Buzz in September.
